Number of UoR Teachers Attended International Training Program
The TeachersMod Training Programs came to an end with the final training held on Aug 9-14, 2024, at the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), in Rome, Italy and at the UTAD University in Vila Real, Portugal. At this phase of the program, four UoR teachers took part.
The first training was held in Rome, Italy, on Aug 9th, 2024, during which Asst. Prof. Dr. Araz R. Ahmad, Director of UoR’s Directorate of Relations and the TeachersMod Coordinator in Europe, together with Asst, Lect. Hiwa Ahmed, Teacher at UoR’s College of Basic Education/English Department, gave a seminar entitled ‘Internships for Enhancing Teaching Skills in the Private Sector in Raparin District’. In the same day, the Project organizers and the Participating Universities met to discuss the latest activities of the program which is going to be ended in 2025.
Later that, Asst. Prof. Dr. Araz R. Ahmad, presented his second seminar on Aug 11th, 2024, at UTAD University in Vila Real, about ‘TOT at the University of Raparin in the Two Upcoming Months’, which are going to be held at the University of Raparin with the participation of thirteen trainers. Following that was the speech of Asst. Prof. Lect. Araz M. Ismail, Director of Directorate of Pedagogy and Academic Development, entitled ‘Recommendations for Enhancing Teaching Methodologies and Syllabi in the Field of Special Needs’, in the same day. Additionally, Mr. Hadi H. Haji, participated at the trainings as part of the UoR Directorate of Pedagogy and Academic Development.
TeachersMod is a training program supervised and funded by the European Union (EU). Several Iraqi Kurdistan Region universities have joined the program since the last two years, including the University of Raparin, University of Duhok, University of Zakho, University of Halabja and University of Salahaddin-Erbil, as well as a number of universities in Europe, including the University of Pavia-Italy, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, University of Granada, Spain, and UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union, Italy.
