University of Raparin Ranks First all over Kurdistan in Times Higher Education 2024 Results

The University of Raparin (UoR) is ranked the first among the universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), the third all over Iraq along with the universities of Kufa and Babil successively and is also seen at the global record of (801-1000) according to the University Impact Rankings for 2024, presented by Times Higher Education, identifying and celebrating universities that excel across multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Despite the SDGs in which the universities showcase their commitment to addressing the world’s most pressing challenges, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth and partnerships., these institutions have to demonstrate comprehensive excellence in contributing to global sustainable development.
These leading universities are recognized for their overarching impact across several dimensions of sustainable development, making significant contributions to creating a sustainable and resilient future. Their broad-based excellence underscores the importance of holistic approaches to global challenges and highlights the critical role of academia in driving sustainable change.
As such, the University of Raparin has proven to be successful in their contribution to having effective plans and taking progressive steps for the sake of sustainable development and making changes. At the same time, the UoR works to maintain a high level of excellence across a broad spectrum of goals and makes efforts to reach high levels in fostering robust international partnerships and cooperation for achieving all SDGs.
Thus, the UoR President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Paiman R. Ahmed, highly recognizes this tremendous step, taken by all the university lecturers, researchers as well as the administrative staff in the development of the university.
