University of Raparin Organizes Fifth Raparin Carnival

The University of Raparin (UoR), organized the fifth carnival on the anniversary of March 5th, 1991 Uprising of the Kurdish nation, with the participation of all of the UoR’s colleges, departments, lecturers, administration staff and students, along with several academic and cultural institutions in the area, sponsored by Kurdsat Broadcasting Cooperation.
In the presence of the UoR President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Paiman R. Ahmed, the UoR Council members, lecturers and students as well as a large number of the people of the area, the fifth carnival on the anniversary of March 5th, 1991 Uprising was held at the UoR’s main campus in Ranya city, on March 5th, 2024. The event was vastly welcomed by the people of the area during which more than a thousand artistic projects and cultural activities were shown.
During the event, the UoR President stated: ‘On the anniversary of the courageous uprising that erupted in Ranya, I congratulate all the Kurdish people, especially the people of Raparin area’. She further went on: ‘We organize several academic and cultural activities and events on this occasion every year to pay tribute to the uprising. We highly respect and remember all the martyrs of March 5th, 1991 who made that day, and paved the way to the freedom of Kurdistan, at the cost of their own souls’.
The event came to the end with several cultural, sports, and singing activities by the students.
