University

The University of Raparin is a public university in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, established in 2010. It has two campuses: the main campus is in Ranya City, and the second campus is in Qaladze City.

In 2004, the College of Humanities, a branch of Koya University, was established in Rania. Its initial formation encompassed three departments: History, Geography, and Arabic Language. The same year witnessed the establishment of the College of Languages in Qaladze, which included the Arabic Language Department. Subsequently, the Department of Philosophy emerged within the College of Humanities in 2005. The College of Nursing took root in Rania in 2008, followed by the Department of English in the College of Languages and the College of Basic Education in 2009, housing Kurdish, Arabic, Computer, and Mathematics departments.

Real engagement in developing human capacities concerning education, higher education, administration, legal issues and enhancing medical awareness in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region could be gained through directing and working on offering a good atmosphere for getting knowledge and providing the highest quality of education and research in different fields.

Providing basic and higher education curricula for both scientific and professional interests, student-centeredness, and freedom of expression, can be obtained through doing academic research, developing the educational and learning process, and providing a productive environment through skillful lectures and researchers. In this vein, the University of Raparin prepares students to be responsible citizens and effective individuals in their careers to serve the community and humanity in the country and worldwide.
